GTC wins 2026 PMR Diamond Arrow Award of Excellence

August 2026

Nine years of recognition. One standard that keeps moving.

GTC has received its ninth consecutive PMR.africa recognition, marking another important milestone in a relationship with the industry that has now spanned close to a decade.

While nine consecutive years of recognition is an achievement we are proud of, consistency at this level is about more than maintaining a track record. The retirement funding environment has changed considerably over that period. Regulation has evolved, technology has accelerated, member expectations have risen and financial wellbeing has become an increasingly important part of the retirement conversation.

Remaining relevant through that change requires more than doing what worked yesterday. It requires the willingness to adapt, embrace innovation responsibly and continually ask how we can deliver better outcomes for trustees, employers and members.

For GTC, that means combining strong administration and technical expertise with something technology alone cannot provide: experience, judgement, accountability and an understanding of the people behind every financial decision. As Gary Mockler, GTC Group CEO, explains in this year’s PMR.africa interview, technology can help organisations use information more effectively and free people from repetitive tasks, but AI should enhance human judgement rather than replace it.

That philosophy extends well beyond technology. As retirement funding becomes increasingly complex, our role continues to evolve from administering benefits towards helping people make better financial decisions throughout their working lives. Better communication, education, responsible innovation and trusted partnerships all have a role to play in helping members build stronger financial futures.  Nine consecutive PMR.africa recognitions therefore represent something much more valuable to us than the awards themselves: the confidence placed in GTC over time.

As Gary observes, awards are meaningful because they reflect that confidence, but they are not how success should ultimately be measured. Success is found in people growing, trustees making informed decisions with confidence and members becoming better prepared for retirement.  We thank our clients and industry partners for their continued trust, and our people for the consistency, care and commitment that make recognition such as this possible.
