Fund Accountant – Employee Benefits Administration
Area: GTC Johannesburg
Key responsibilities
Fund Audit’s and Fund Accounting
- Managing project deliverables
- Preparation of working papers
- Preparation of Annual Financial Statements
- Query resolution
Financial control
Monthly bank reconciliations
- High priority bank reconciliations sign off by 10th of every month.
- Standard priority bank reconciliations sign off by 15th of every month.
- Submit bank recon tasks for checking by month end.
GTC and ex FLA funds
- Downloading of bank statements for Nedbank from Banking platform.
- Downloading of bank statements for Standard Bank from Banking platform.
- Downloading of bank statements for FNB from Banking platform.
- Request for bank statements to be uploaded on WF tasks.
Everest
- Importing bank statements into Everest for Nedbank.
- Importing statements into Everest for FNB.
- Investigations and reconciliations (PAYE account 2000/178, Management Fee account, Creditors/Investments paid with cash 2000/8) for GTC Group Pension and Provident Main accounts.
Accounts processing
- Process accounting journals where required (invoices and bank recon)
- Importing payment to banking system (Standard Bank, Nedbank and FNB)
Quarterly Accounting (preparations)
- Preparation of Management Accounts
- Preparation of C48 Form for Retirement Funds
- Preparation of working papers in anticipation of year end
General communication
- Query logging and escalation
- Internal feedback
- External feedback
General and collation of reports
- Generate system reports
Activity management
- Activity Planning
- Completion, validation and sign off on daily tasks
- Monitoring of activity progress
- Management Escalation
Skills and experience requirements
- Matric with Higher Grade Maths with a minimum C symbol.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in similar environment.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel Advanced, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Degree or Diploma in Finance completed or in progress.
- Sound understanding of systems and experience with working with developers &
- programmers.

Office hours
GTC’s conventional office hours are between 08:00 and 17:00.
There will be occasions where the incumbent would need to work overtime.
